I had a really good weekend. Cory was down, and Denisse and I sweet talked him into getting pedicures after Pho. Aside from stimulating the local vietnamese-american community I have the satisfaction of knowing I got 3 vietnamese sandwiches for $5.50. Banh Mi Che Cali isn’t the most delicious, but it tastes awesome when I spend $5.50 and get 2 full meals out of the deal.

I wish Mrs. Marley would smoke less and sing more. She and Wyclef had an affair, but I like their music from that period more than I like their more recent stuff.

Work life

Pump #1 is up and running. My boss flew out for the start-up and everything went well. People ask what one of our pumps cost, and I can’t really say…but I can say that between the pump, replacement parts, rig charge, crane rental, overtime, and our modest expenses replacing this pump cost in the neighborhood of $550,000 not including any losses associated with the 5MW in production the plant lost while the pump was down.

Homecoming

Finished installing my first pump today. I’d give myself a B- or C+ because I make a couple of small mistakes that slowed down the installation and won’t effect longevity, but probably won’t earn me any industry accolades either.
